<\/p>\n\n\n\nA Win for PMGC Division 2 PENNANT<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A fantastic effort by the Pambula Merimbula Golf Club Division 2 pennant team to defeat Mollymook 3-2 at Bega in the Far\u00a0 South Coast Pennant final on Sunday.<\/p>\n
This is three Pennants in a row for Div 2 having previously won in 2023 and 2024.\u00a0 Zak Coustley has been a member of all three teams, but this year we changed things up with team selection adding David Pleyey, Dan Brown Liam Brown and Dominic Brown to the team. \u00a0 This combination proved a winning formula with the team only losing one of their six matches.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s pleasing to see the development in our younger players and the experience will hold them in good stead for the future.<\/p>\n
Dan Brown was undefeated in his five matches, winning four and halving one.\u00a0 Dan was rock-solid at No 3 as was Dave Plevey at No 1, losing only one match during the season and always playing against the best player from the other teams.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Liam Brown performed extremely well in the qualifying rounds and Dom Brown won both his semi-final and final match to finish the season off in outstanding fashion.\u00a0 The improvement in Dom\u2019s match play strategy was evident, and he was instrumental in getting the team over the line in for narrow but convincing wins in both their finals matches. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Zak Coustley won his first two matches this year to contribute to the team\u2019s first two wins and in doing so, took his Pennant record to being unbeaten in 14 matches for the club. \u00a0 However, it\u2019s impossible for anyone to sustain that level of success, and whilst I know Zak is disappointed with the back-end of his season, we couldn\u2019t have won 3 in a row without Zak.\u00a0 He started out playing No 5 off hcp 16 in 2023 and finished playing No 2 off hcp 7 this year.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think we\u2019ll have Zak next year but whatever he decides to do after Year 12, I hope he continues with his golf.<\/p>\n
The 6th member of Div 2 was Chilly Concannon who won his only match with the team.<\/p>\n
Mention also to the Div 1 and Senior Pennant teams who both made it through to the semi-finals this year.\u00a0 We were the only Far South Coast club to make finals in all three Divisions. \u00a0<\/p>\n
